An Adventure in Maritime History
Visiting the Los Angeles Maritime Museum is a journey through history.
The Museum is located in the historic municipal ferry terminal.
From 1941 to 1963 thousands of workers boarded here to catch the
ferry to Terminal Island. Today the ferry is gone, but the building
remains an active place.
Travel up the original pedestrian ramp, now lined
with ship models of all sizes. Tie a sailor's knot, learn to steer
a ship, and witness the changing scenes of one of the world's busiest
ports.
2002 Tall Ships Festival
The largest gathering of tall ships in L.A. harbor in nearly 100
years. See what you missed in our special Tall
Ships Challenge section.
Navy Hall
Honoring the people and warships that called San Pedro home.
Ship Models
During your visit, watch skilled model builders practice their craft
on scale model ships. Dozens are on display.
