In September 2002 the Port of Los Angeles sponsored it's first "Festival of Sail," a five day event that brought tall ships from around the world to San Pedro. Brigantines.Com created a Special Section devoted to the event and preserved it online for you to see.

In the early morning of April 11, 2003, shipwrights and crew were preparing Exy Johnson for her first sail. The photo on the right shows one of the shipwrights washing down the deck to clear away the last of the sawdust before getting underway.
